GOSHAWK AXE HEAD
Convex grind into forged phantom bevels. Forged phantom bevels are a feature of axe head geometry that have a taper both down to the bottom and top of the axe head. This feature means the axe is far less likely to ‘stick’ whilst processing timber. (click here for our video explaining phantom bevels).
Integral forged overstrike collar - the collar is forged from the same billet of steel as the axe whole head and heat treated in the same way making it exceptionally durable.

EN9 Scandinavian Medium Carbon Steel.
Large Heat treated Poll (rear face).
Hand Stitched Oak Bark Tanned Leather Sheath
Head weight: Just over 3lb/1.4kg - within a hand forged tolerance.
GOSHAWK AXE HANDLE
Traditional European Ash Handle - Strong, low vibration, and provides a little spring.
Handle finished with boiled linseed oil. Natural, water-resistant finish that enhances the colour of the wood and darkens slightly with age.
